Wolfram Alpha Answer Engine To Go Live Next Week
Wolfram Alpha, a search engine that understands questions asked in natural language is set to go live next week, and our hopes for a better debut than Cuil's have been bolstered thanks to some preliminary testing.
Granted, Cuil:Wolfram Alpha isn't quite an apples to apples comparison, but they're similar in that both are taking a shot at the big guys. Cuil is a search engine, Wolfram Alpha is an "knowledge engine," purportedly able to answer any question made in natural language. Jim Giles of NewScientist recently sat down with Wolfram Alpha and ran a few basic tests. Make sure you read the comments as well...
If you want to sign up and possibly play with Wolfram Alpha prior to release, just hit up their home page and click the 'Contact us...' link.
